World Rally Championship

Rally analytics inspired by Rally Data Junkie. Stage times, split-time heatmaps, pace charts, and off-the-pace analysis.

Visualization Features

Stage Results & Heatmaps

Individual stage results with gap-to-leader heatmap coloring. Cells colored green→red based on time differential to the stage winner — quickly spot who's fast and who's falling behind.

Split Times & Ultimate Stage

Within-stage split time analysis with rebased heatmaps. Includes "ultimate stage time" — the theoretical fastest time combining the best split sections from any driver.

Off-The-Pace Chart

Track how gaps evolve over the entire rally. Rebase to any driver to see relative performance. Inspired by rallydatajunkie's cumulative gap visualizations.

Stage Pace Comparison

Pace measured in seconds-per-kilometer across all stages. Compare driver consistency and identify surface specialists. Lower pace = faster.

Multi-Stage Overview

Position-per-stage matrix showing each driver's stage position with stage win counts and cumulative gap. Quickly see who dominated and where positions changed.

Rally Data Junkie Approach

Visualization methodology based on the Rally Data Junkie book by Tony Hirst. Uses the WRC results-api for detailed stage times and split data.
